Our Learn to Knit Socks workshop is on Thursday 16th February 2018.

Knitting socks just has to be the best kind of knitting – once you’ve got the basics such as shaping the heels, knitting the gusset and finishing the toe with Kitchener stitch we guarantee you’ll be addicted to knitting socks as they aren’t expensive, are reasonably quick to achieve and make a great gift, including to yourself. There’s nothing nicer than pulling on warm, handknit socks in the winter and they really do help to keep cold feet warmer.

In the workshop, held at Hopton House B&B, we will focus on knitting a mini-sock and make sure that you go away raring to cast on a full-size pair for yourself.

The workshop will start at 9.30 promptly and finish by 4.30. If you need accommodation, it will be available at Hopton House on a first come first serve basis, or, if we’re full, we can arrange it at local B&Bs just a 5-10 minute drive away.

We’ll provide everything you need to complete a small sock in a day; double-pointed needles, yarn, darning needle and an easy pattern all in a bag for you to take away.

The cost of the workshop will be £85 including refreshments throughout the day, lunch and your goody bag. Places are limited to a maximum of 6.

To secure a place, we ask for a £35 deposit, which can be paid by debit or credit card over the phone, paypal or bank transfer. The remainder is payable on the day of the course. Please call Karen on 01547 530885 or email

Please note that the deposit is non-refundable if you cancel unless we are able to resell the workshop place.
